Pixalate’s May 2023 Amazon Fire TV Invalid Traffic Overlap Report: HGTV GO shares 30%-50% IVT with Tubi

Travel Channel GO, MTV and VUit Amazon Fire TV apps reported elevated IVT rates, all of which have <10% Invalid Traffic overlap with Pluto TV and Tubi apps.

LONDON, June 26, 2023 -- Pixalate, the market-leading fraud protection, privacy, and compliance analytics platform for Connected TV (CTV) and Mobile Advertising, today released the May 2023 Amazon Fire TV IVT Overlap Report. The series reveals which Amazon Fire TV apps share elevated levels of invalid traffic (IVT).

Pixalate’s monthly analysis of suspicious traffic patterns between CTV devices and apps provides advertising buyers and sellers with the data necessary to combat potential ad fraud. Traffic overlap is one signal for potential botnets which exist in the CTV app ecosystem.

Key findings:

  • HGTV Go, MTV, Travel Channel Go, VUit, and Watch OWN Amazon Fire TV apps appear to be the most targeted for IVT
  • Tubi & Pluto TV apps appear to be associated with all top 5 impacted apps in this report, indicating these apps may also be targeted
