Pixalate’s Mobile Ad Fraud Series for March 2023 reveals rise in music/audio apps being targeted for spoofing 

LONDON, April 13, 2023 -- Pixalate, the market-leading fraud protection, privacy, and compliance analytics platform for Connected TV (CTV) and Mobile Advertising, today released the March 2023 Mobile App Spoofing report, as a part of our Mobile Ad Fraud Series, where we highlight unique forms of invalid traffic (IVT), inclusive of “ad fraud,” across the mobile open programmatic advertising marketplace.

Key Findings:

  • North America sees new top apps on both platforms, with TuneIn Radio (iOS) and Audiomack (Android) rising as the apps most affected by spoofing in March for that region.
  • Continuing the trend from previous months, puzzle games like Jigsaw Puzzles or Spider Solitaire remain highly affected by app spoofing in iOS traffic during March.
  • Pop Stone 2, Real Friends, and whowho continue to top the Android apps affected by spoofing in the APAC region. These appear to be rewards apps and social media apps.
