Pixalate's Q2 2022 Delisted CTV Apps Report - Roku and Amazon Fire TV

Pixalate today released the Q2 2022 Delisted CTV Apps Report for a detailed look at Connected TV (CTV) apps delisted from the Roku and Amazon Fire TV app stores.

  • 339 Connected TV (CTV) apps were delisted across Roku and Amazon Fire TV app stores in Q2 2022
  • This was an increase of 30% compared to the number of delisted CTV apps in Q4 2021
  • 38% of delisted Roku apps had no detected privacy policy
  • 35% of the delisted CTV apps had an app-ads.txt file (65% did not)

339 CTV apps delisted from Roku, Amazon stores in Q2 2022

According to Pixalate’s data, 339 CTV apps were delisted over Q2 2022 across the Roku and Amazon Fire TV app stores. The majority of them, (296, or 87%), were delisted from the Roku Channel Store.

  • 35% of the delisted apps had app-ads.txt files to help support programmatic advertising, per Pixalate.
  • 38% of delisted Roku apps had no detected privacy policy, compared to 12% for delisted Amazon apps
  • 45% of delisted Roku apps were privately registered (16% for Amazon)

 

Roku, Amazon account for nearly 60% of the CTV device market in North America

 

According to Pixalate's CTV device market share benchmarks, in June 2022, Roku accounted for 45% of CTV open programmatic ad spend* in North America, while Amazon accounted for 12% market share.
