Oct 14, 2026 — Ad Fraud API v3.0.0 Adds Risk Type Codes

Effective October 14, 2026, Pixalate introduced Ad Fraud API v3.0.0 which returns risk type codes alongside the fraud probability so you can see why an IP address, device ID or user agent is flagged and block by risk type.

What’s new

Ad Fraud API v3.0.0 returns a riskTypes field alongside probability. riskTypes lists the four-digit risk type codes that explain why an IP address, device ID or user agent is flagged. For each code’s name and definition, see Pixalate’s IVT Taxonomy 2.0.

Previously, the Ad Fraud API v2.0.1 returned the fraud probability in the FraudInfo response object only.

Impact

You can explain, report on and block flagged traffic by risk type directly from the API response. Risk type codes follow the format T C NN (IVT class, category, type). This lets you write blocking rules at any level: all SIVT (2xxx), one category (25xx) or a single type (2502). You can use these rules on their own or together with a probability threshold.

Changes

Ad Fraud API (REST)
Endpoint Change From → to
GET /api/v3/fraud Added v2/fraud → v3/fraud
Field Change From → to
FraudInfo.riskTypes Added — → nullable(array<integer>)

Upgrade

No action is required if you stay on v2. To use v3:

  1. Change the base URL from https://fraud-api.pixalate.com/api/v2 to https://fraud-api.pixalate.com/api/v3.
  2. Read riskTypes in the FraudInfo object to get the list of applicable risk types of the lookup value. Map each code using Pixalate’s IVT Taxonomy 2.0.
